Lühikirjeldus: This essay explores the ontology of frame-by-frame animation by focusing on the interplay between movement, objects, and frame relations. Drawing from philosophical frameworks, particularly Gilles Deleuze’s concept of the movement-image and Henri Bergson’s theory of duration, the study positions animation not merely as a sequence of drawings but as a conceptual and material practice that constructs meaning through inter-frame relationships. By analyzing experimental animations—How the Frog’s Eye Sees, Fok Nabo Distorio and Taming Phenomena—the essay challenges conventional production models and argues that animated objects are not static entities, but concepts realized through motion and visual transformation. The investigation suggests that movement in animation is not only a visual phenomenon but also a cognitive and ontological one, with each frame acting as a constructed node within a larger framework of thought and perception.
